MARSDEN WOO GALLERY ASSOCIATED ARTIST NICHOLAS LEES FEATURED IN THE LATEST ISSUE OF CERAMIC REVIEW

The current issue of Ceramic Review (Issue 264) features a fantastic six-page spread on Marsden Woo Gallery associated artist Nicholas Lees, with him in conversation with Jo Dahn about his optical objects.

Lees has just returned from showing a new group of works as part of the AWARD exhibition at the British Ceramics Biennial in Stoke-on-Trent. The objects in his current series of work demonstrate optical uncertainty. They stem from an interest in the penumba, the boundary between light and shade and are, amongst other things, an attempt to realise potential ambiguity in its material equivalent, the boundary between matter and space.
